Saying that children are the future is just not enough. Investing in our children’s education by improving our public schools, providing competitive salaries for qualified teachers, and retaining high quality standards for school readiness are steps we can take to make sure our children will lead us into the future.
Education Advisory Committee

Early in her first term, Rep.Ausley put together a small group of education experts who continue to serve in an advisory capacity. Rep. Ausley communicates with this group of parents and teachers by email and periodically asks for advice and input on proposed and suggested legislation.
School Visits

During her first term in office, Rep. Ausley visited every public school in Leon County, and she continues to visit schools throughout the district, throughout the school year. These visits give her the opportunity to talk candidly with teachers, administrators and students.
  • Too much emphasis on FCAT
  • Need for competitive teacher salaries
  • Need for high quality pre-K and readiness programs
  • Overcrowded classrooms
  • Weakening of National Board Certification standards

Representative Ausley will continue to work in the Florida legislature to ensure that these issues are adequately addressed and funded.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your Representative for House District 9. I appreciate the input I have received from so many of you over the last eight years. Because of your calls, emails, letters and visits, I have been able to focus on the issues that are important to Tallahassee and the surrounding area.
