Thank you for your interest in my campaign for the Florida Senate.
For the last eight years I have served the citizens of North Florida in the Florida House of Representatives. I have stood on the front line advocating for state employees and retirees, and against costly privatization efforts. I have provided a strong voice for Florida's children, and our public schools. I have learned that it takes hard work, dedication and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done - no matter who gets the credit.
It is simply unacceptable that our state ranks dead last in nearly every category related to children, and it is time that the 4th largest state in the nation become the BEST place to raise and live with a child - not the worst. Likewise, it is unacceptable that our hard working state employees have been working with little or no pay raises and our retirees have to go out to find jobs just to cover their health insurance payments. These are just a few of the issues that I want to continue working on in the Florida Senate, and I hope you will join my campaign.

Loranne Ausley currently serves as Board Chair of the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation, and as a senior advisor to the Lawton Chiles Foundation. She has just completed four terms in the Florida House of Representatives, and is an attorney with over 20 years of public service at the State and Federal level.
Ausley's legislative agenda focused around the issues that are important to North Florida: economic development; respecting the role of state employees; health care; and education, particularly early childhood initiatives. She has worked on these issues both in the legislature and in her community becoming known statewide as a "Champion for Children." Ausley's health care expertise led to her appointment as ranking democratic Member on the House Health Care Council for the 2007-2008 term.
